Welcome to Caledon Hills Fellowship
We realize that visiting a church for the first time can be a little daunting, if not intimidating, but our desire is to warmly greet you with the love of Jesus. Our worship service is from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. Presently, we are also live streaming our Sunday worship services from our CHFBC YouTube Channel. We want you to know that we are available for you — to answer questions, to help you connect to others, to be your “road in” as you learn more about Caledon Hills Fellowship and seek to discover if God is leading you here to be a part of this community of believers. Read on to learn a little more about what to expect.
Our Children
Our Sunday morning children’s ministry is geared toward serving our families and discipling our children in the Lord. It is our aim to esteem and promote the gathering of God’s local church, so we begin every service with all our children present alongside their parents.
While it is our hope that children will gradually learn to participate in the whole service, we recognize that this is a process that takes time. We invite parents to make use of our Sunday morning children’s ministry opportunities as needed.
Nursery: The nursery room is available for parents throughout the service if they need to excuse themselves with their young children. Part-way through the service, however, young children (up to 5 years) are dismissed for the remainder of the service to be cared for by nursery volunteers. Parents are encouraged to take their young children to the nursery for sign-in and then pick them up at the end of the service.
Sunday School: Similarly, throughout the school year elementary-aged children (grades 1-5) are also dismissed part-way through the service for a time of intentional, age-appropriate teaching in our downstairs classroom. These children follow their teacher out of the sanctuary to the classroom without their parents, though parents are welcome to walk their children downstairs if they wish. However, on Communion Sundays (first Sunday of every month), all elementary-aged children remain with their parents for the duration of the service.
NOTE: For safety reasons, children will not be released from the nursery or from the classroom unless signed out by a parent or a recognized and parent-authorized adult.
Our Music
As those who have come to know God’s forgiveness, we love to sing His praises. Together, as a church, we want to give glory to God for the grace He has shown to us through Jesus Christ. We do this through a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary choruses, all declaring the truth of who God is and what He has done. While we have a variety of musicians and vocalists assisting us, the main “instrument” of our singing is the congregation, as we lift our collective voices together in worship to God. Ironically, although our corporate worship is for God’s glory, we find that our deepest needs are met.
Our Preaching
We believe that God yet speaks today through His Word and each Sunday we anticipate hearing from Him. Therefore, the main event of our Sunday morning worship is the preaching of God’s Word. Rather than simply hearing the preacher’s ideas on a topic, his intent will be to open up the Bible and help us come to understand its relevance for our lives. If you don’t have a Bible, we are happy to provide one for you. Please talk to Pastor Bill. Our hope is that in hearing God’s Word and receiving it by faith, you would encounter God Himself, in all of his glory and goodness.
Our Fellowship
Please grab a coffee in the front foyer on your way in and pick up a church bulletin from an Usher. Following each Sunday service we provide a time of refreshments and get-together in our Overflow Room. We also have monthly potluck luncheons to which all visitors are welcome to attend. We’d love to host you.
Our Communion
On the first Sunday of each month we celebrate the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper. In partaking of the bread and the cup, we remember how our Lord gave his body and blood for our salvation, and has united us together into one Body.
Stay to Get to Know Us
After the service, we hope you will stick around and give us a chance to get to know you. Our members enjoy staying to talk with visitors and catch up with friends, so feel free to introduce yourself to someone around you. Also, feel free to browse our church library and pick up literature in the front foyer. Just let us know if there’s anything we can do to help.
